Patients (also prospective study subjects) are using the internet to facilitate unprecedented levels of medical/clinical updates, engagement, and communication around an explosion of online information exchange. This content ranges from social media posts to review of policy documents to conversation threads on research platforms. Sponsor product developers, academic professionals, researchers, and practitioners are leveraging these opportunities for non-traditional engagement to further engage with patients via platforms of interchange in the context of a clinical trial. This session will share experiences of real-world- platforms including how the patient perspective was incorporated in the design of the solution and how patients will benefit from their adoption. Speakers from Patient Advocacy groups, Sponsors/CROs or clinical sites would present experiences on actual use cases and best practices from lessons learned.
