In this session, we will discuss the potential complications of social media interaction between study participants, and will present practical ideas for maintaining respect for the autonomy of participants, while protecting the integrity of the clinical trial.

Learning Objective : Explain the potential complications of social media use during clinical trials; Develop techniques to educate participants about their impact on study conduct; Describe three tactics for avoiding potential pitfalls of engaging social networks in clinical trials (education, trial monitoring, adverse event reporting).
