Stephanie Y. Crawford, PhD, MPH, is Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy. Dr. Crawford is also Professor in the Department of Medical Education at the UIC College of Medicine; Professor and Fellow in the UIC Honors College; and an affiliate faculty member in the UIC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research. Her primary research interests focus on social justice, access, and reducing disparities in the medication-use process. Her related scholarly interests include pharmacy systems evaluation (e.g., medication adherence, safe medication use, optimal use of novel technologies) and associated patient-centered medication outcomes.
Dr. Crawford is the nationally elected Chair of the United States Pharmacopeia Expert Committee on Nomenclature and Labeling (2015-2020 term). From 2003-2006, she was a charter member of the US FDA Advisory Committee on Drug Safety and Risk Management, which she has continued to serve as a consultant. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Crawford served as Director of Scientific Affairs for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
