Previously, Dr. Lee held position as President and CEO of International Scientific Standards (ISS) for 5 years. ISS, a joint venture company of Battelle and Yuyu Pharmaceutical, provides contracted R&D and lab services in accordance with Korean and/or US standards. As she led ISS, Dr. Lee was awarded “Outstanding Employer” by the Minister of Labor and Employment in 2012, and “Equal Opportunity Workplace” by Prime Minister of Korea. She also served as a Partner at JIL, a consulting firm for Chemical & Pharmaceutical industries, for 5 years. At JIL, Dr. Lee was responsible for delivering strategies for business development, product registration, regulatory compliance and technology licensing. She also conducted local regulatory compliance training for global companies, and volunteered her service to local venture companies in the areas of regulatory compliance and technology. Prior to her role at JIL, Dr. Lee was appointed as Manager, then to Executive Director, at Bayer Corporation (US) and Bayer Ltd (Korea) where she changed her career from R&D to Management.
Dr. Lee started her career in academia, as a senior researcher at HanHyo Institutes of Technology for new drug development and as an Adjunct Professor at top universities in Korea. She has also been invited as an advisor or committee member to various Governmental organizations and subsidiaries for policy, project management and R&D fund assessment/evaluation since 2006. She is a chemist by training and earned her Ph.D. from University of Oregon.
Dr. Lee explores opportunities for DIA business development and impact in SE Asia and Korea, including DIA promotion, program building and collaborative partnering in the region. She brings a breadth and depth of experiences to DIA.
