Alberto Grignolo,
PhD

Global Connector Award

Alberto is a tremendous volunteer for DIA! He serves on the faculty for our Regulatory Affairs training courses, and teaches the course in other DIA regions including Japan and China. He has also served as a moderator for webinars, and he is actively involved as an instructor for one of our boot camp training initiatives.

Dr. Grignolo is currently the Corporate Vice President at Parexel Consulting, having previously held positions as President of FIDIA Pharmaceutical Corporation and in regulatory affairs at Smith Kline & French Laboratories. He has served as an adviser to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences on human subject protection in clinical trials. He is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI). Dr. Grignolo has served as a leader of several industry organizations, including as Chairman of RAPS and on the Board of Directors for DIA. Dr. Grignolo holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS degree from Duke University. He completed postdoctoral work in neuropharmacology at Duke University Medical Center. As a member and volunteer with DIA for over 30 years, Dr, Grignolo refers to the association as “family” and this is evident through his commitment to DIA and its educational program. Alberto currently serves on the faculty for the Regulatory Affairs: The IND, NDA, and Postmarketing training course, and has participated in a plethora of other DIA events including serving as the Program Chair of the DIA Annual Meeting in 2007. A respected and valued Editorial Board member for the DIA magazine, The Global Forum, Dr. Grignolo recently assumed the position of Deputy Editor for this publication and is leading the revitalization efforts of The Global Forum.
