Exploring Digital Solutions for Sustainability in Clinical Trials

The DIA / Sustainable Healthcare Coalition (SHC) Think Tank on Sustainable Clinical Trials was launched in November 2024, bringing together regulators, industry, academia, patients, and global health stakeholders to explore how clinical trials can be designed and delivered in a more sustainable way.

Building on the outcomes of this inaugural Think Tank, the 2026 edition focuses on digital solutions as a key enabler of sustainability, examining how digitalisation can reduce burden, improve efficiency, increase access and inclusion, and support more patient-centred clinical trial models across the lifecycle.

The 2026 Think Tank will continue this work through invitation-only, solution-oriented roundtable discussions, with the goal of identifying practical actions, pilot opportunities, and metrics that can accelerate change across the clinical trial ecosystem.
