DIA Names New Fellows at DIA 2018 Global Annual Meeting

Members to be Honored at the DIA Inspires 2018 Annual Celebration of Volunteerism for Lifetime Contributions to the Advancement of Global Health

DIA, founded as the Drug Information Association, has named 2018 Fellows of DIA, for their lifetime contributions to DIA, and their commitment to advancing health and healthcare product innovation around the world.

The 2018 Fellows of DIA, listed below, will be inducted at the DIA Inspires 2018 Annual Celebration of Volunteerism to be held on Sunday, June 24 during the upcoming DIA 2018 Global Annual Meeting in Boston June 24-28.

  • Tatsuo Kurokawa, PhD, Chair, Fellow of DIA, President, Japan Self-Medication Industry, Japan
  • Martin Harvey Allchurch, LLM, Fellow of DIA, Principal International Affairs Officer, European Medicines Agency, European Union
  • E. Stewart Geary, MD, Fellow of DIA, Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Director, Corporate Medical Affairs HQ Eisai Co., Ltd., Japan
  • Sandra L. Kweder, MD, Fellow of DIA, Deputy Director, FDA Liaison to the EMA, Office of International Programs, Office of the Commissioner, FDA

“DIA’s new Fellows have collectively contributed more than 60 years of service to the advancement of healthcare through their dedication to DIA and its global mission,” said Barbara Lopez Kunz, Global Chief Executive of DIA. “We are extremely grateful to have such committed members as our new Fellows, and I am honored to recognize and congratulate these four long-standing volunteers. I cannot think of people more deserving of this recognition”

Membership into the Fellows of DIA is a unique distinction awarded to long-term, highly engaged members who continue to contribute to DIA in exemplary ways. This is an honorary recognition bestowed on less than 1 percent of DIA’s membership.

Fellows of DIA have demonstrated active support of the advancement of healthcare and the healthcare products arena through leadership roles for a minimum of 15 years and have proven engagement in DIA through key volunteer roles in support of major DIA projects or initiatives.
