Dr. Akihisa Harada has served as President & Representative Director of Pfizer Japan Inc. since December 2017. As Chief Scientist, he was Pfizer’s point of contact vis-à-vis members of these communities and guided Pfizer’s R&D leaders on appropriate strategies for engaging with communities and leveraging Japan’s biomedical innovation potential. In 2017, he was tapped to be President & Representative Director of Pfizer Japan Inc. and concurrently appointed Internal Medicine Lead, until December 2022. He started his career in immunology research in 1997 as a visiting scientist at Windeyer Institute of Medical Sciences, University College London, UK. He obtained his M.D. from Kanazawa University School of Medicine in 1986.
