Patient Advocates at DIA 2026
DIA 2026 is proud to be a Patients Included™ meeting—meaning patient advocates (people with lived experience and caregivers) are valued partners in shaping and delivering the meeting.
What Patients Included™ Means for DIA 2026
Patient advocates are not just invited to attend—they are valued partners throughout the program, and their voices are treated with respect, support, and fairness.
Patient Advocates help shape the meeting
People with lived experience and caregivers work alongside DIA’s Program Committee to help develop session topics, identify speakers, and ensure patient perspectives are meaningfully included across the program.
Patient Advocates are part of the conversation—in person
People with lived experience and caregivers participate as speakers, panelists, and attendees, and are supported to attend in person where they can engage fully with the community.
Costs are covered for patient advocate speakers
DIA covers travel, hotel, registration, and daily expenses for patient and caregiver speakers, with costs paid in advance so participation is not a financial burden.
Scholarships are available
DIA offers Patient Partners Program Scholarships (minimally two) that allow patient advocates affected by the issues discussed at the meeting to attend as delegates and actively contribute during sessions, with registration, travel, and hotel costs fully covered.
Registration for Patient Advocates and Patient Organizations
Patient partners and patient organization representatives are eligible for a reduced basic registration rate of $265 until May 14. After May 14, the basic rate is $280. Please complete the form to apply.

Accessibility & Support
Accessibility matters
DIA works to accommodate accessibility needs so that everyone can participate comfortably. If you need an accommodation or would like to request support, our team is here to help. When possible, sessions are livestreamed free of charge so patients and caregivers who cannot attend in person can still take part.
