Session 1: EU Cooperation on HTA – Present and Future

Over the past 12 years much progress has been achieved on health technology assessment in Europe through the temporary funded EUnetHTA joint actions programme. Pilot projects on early scientific advice as well as relative effectiveness assessment have shown that stakeholders can collaborate successfully and the European Commission proposal published on January 31 aims at a regulation of HTA for a sustainable cooperation post 2020. The session will provide an overview of the main provisions of the proposal, the state of play, and timeline. Panelists will also be invited to reflect on what could be done to prepare for a permanent cooperation model.
