Database studies based on secondary data analysis of automated largescale health care databases, such as claims data and electronic medical records, have been widely acknowledged and employed in postmarketing evaluations overseas. This session will outline and discuss the current issues and challenges in fully introducing and quickly realizing database studies in Japan.
