This short course provides a practical introduction to the foundations of real-world evidence (RWE), spanning the full journey from regulatory expectations to study execution. Participants will begin with an overview of recent regulatory guidance as well as learning and implementation shaping the use of RWE in decision-making. Subsequent lectures will focus on designing fit-for-purpose real-world studies, evaluating the strengths and limitations of real-world data sources, and applying key epidemiologic methods to generate rigorous and credible evidence. The course concludes with an interactive case-based activity that allows participants to apply concepts and discuss real-world challenges and solutions with faculty and peers.
