Africa presents the opportunity to move from being an underrepresented (<4% of Global trials) trial location to becoming a globally competitive clinical research partner. To increase Africa’s participation, a coordinated and integrated approach across regulatory and ethics review, research infrastructure, investigator and workforce development, earl-phase clinical trial capability, community engagement genomic representation, digital systems and sustainable investment is required. The session will bring together diverse stakeholders across the clinical trial value chain to identify practical actions that can increase access and impact of clinical trials conducted across Africa.
