DIA-MHRA Global Summit

SESSION OVERVIEW:Today, AI is utilized throughout the continuum of medical product development and regulatory approval. However, as fast advances continue to occur on the technology side, there is still uncertainty around some of the various applications of AI in the medicines lifecycle. In this session, participants will be able to hear examples of the successful application of AI in drug repurposing to address diseases with significant unmet medical need. Furthermore, this session will bring together leading voices from across the UK academic, philanthropic and technology innovator environment to about how evolving approaches to the regulation of AI as a medical device may inform future thinking across the wider ecosystem of medicines development and healthcare innovation. Particular attention will be given to the opportunities for AI presents to enable scientific progress and support the delivery of innovative products to patients more quickly.

SESSION IMPACT:Attendees can expect to learn about different AI applications in medical product development and explore its utilization in drug repurposing as well as other applications that might improve access of life saving therapies for patients all over the world. The role of regulators and other policy makers as well as global collaboration across borders will be discussed as well.
