Clinical trials development has advanced to full inclusion of patient-partners in proposing and participating in the early development phase of clinical research studies and trials. This session will focus on the educational tools and resources that community members have developed for training new community members and researchers to assist in early development of trials. This session will also feature a presentation from Health Canada that provides an overview of Health Canada’s clinical trials transparency initiative that includes a searchable Canadian clinical trials portal.

Learning Objective :
  • Gain understanding principles for collaborating with community on clinical trial development
  • Understand balance between engaging community members in a tokenistic fashion versus meaningful collaboration
  • Learn about training resources to assist your company with meaningful community engagement
  • Learn about Health Canada’s new tool for community members to search for Canadian clinical trials
