In many recent dialogues we had with policy makers and regulatory authorities regarding lesson learnt from COVID-19, the term “agility” is often heard. During the pandemic, “agility” mindset has significantly contributed to patient access for essential medical products. Regulatory agility is likely to be further explored and practiced by authorities beyond the pandemic to increase regulatory efficiency as well as improve patient access. Out of the various regulatory agility elements, we would like to focus on regulatory convergence, reliance and alternative pathways.
