In pharmaceutical product development, appropriate and efficient patient recruitment is a very important factor, not only for cost reduction by shortening of the study, but also in fulfilling the mission of pharmaceutical companies to deliver new drugs to patients as soon as possible. This session will feature these three themes: First, the patient referral system in the clinical trial network, one of the advanced approaches for patient recruitment in Japan; second, comparing the patient recruitment situation between Asia and Japan; finally, overview of a patient recruitment organization that has developed in the US. Presenters will discuss the current and future prospects necessary to develop efficient patient recruitment in Japan.
