Darren Dorrell works as a Senior Data Analyst at Genentech / Roche within their Safety Risk Management group. In this role, he partners with Safety Scientists across lifecycle phases to provide data-driven evidence and applied model-based insight for the enhanced characterization of the benefit/risk profiles of molecules. Darren has a background as a software engineer. In recent years he has combined his business and technical knowledge to partner with others to explore methods and publish in the areas of using machine learning to automate the detection of adverse event reports and development of an algorithm to support causality assessment.

Geoffrey Mann is Advanced Analytics Manager for the health and life sciences industry at JMP. In this role, he explores needs for visual and statistical discovery software in the clinical segment of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. After joining SAS in 2000, he helped develop software for use in health and life sciences, including SAS® Drug Development, SAS Clinical Data Integration, SAS Clinical Toolkit, JMP® Genomics and JMP Clinical. Mann is an inactive member of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Commission (CDISC), where he used to participate on the CDISC Analysis Data Model (ADaM) Team as the metadata team lead.
