Development of safe and efficacious oligonucleotide-based therapeutics (ONTs) can be facilitated by optimized delivery. Therefore, ONT delivery systems are an active area of research, as they can direct ONTs to specific genes or tissues to improve overall drug safety and therapeutic efficacy. This session will feature advances in targeted ONT delivery using ligands or lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). Together, these presentations reflect the field's growing emphasis on precision delivery, therapeutic efficacy, and safety.
Learning Objective : At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to: - Define ligand-mediated proximal tubule cell delivery within a complex renal environment
- Describe the scientific rationale for using a multi-component ONT delivery system including a targeting ligand, a primary therapeutic target, and a secondary therapeutic target
- Explain how AI can aid in the screening and optimization of LNP-based specific organ targeting of ONTs
