Registration

Yes. Registration is open here, with early bird rates available for a limited period — we'd love to see you in Basel!

Yes. A downloadable justification letter template is available here to help you demonstrate to your supervisor why attending DIA Europe 2027 supports your professional development.

You may transfer your registration to a colleague prior to the start of the event but membership is not transferable. Substitute attendees will be responsible for the non-member fee, if applicable. Please notify basel@diaglobal.org of any such substitutions as soon as possible.

All cancellations must be in writing and be received at basel@diaglobal.org four weeks prior to the event start date. Full event cancellations are subject to an administrative fee:

  • Industry (Member/Non-member): €200.00
  • Academia/Charitable/Government/Non-profit (Full-Time) (Member/Non-member): €100.00

If you do not cancel four weeks prior to the event start date and do not attend, you will be responsible for the full registration fee. DIA EMEA reserves the right to alter the venue and dates if necessary. If an event is postponed or cancelled, DIA is not responsible for airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by registered attendees. Registered attendees are responsible for cancelling their own hotel and travel reservations.

Programme and Sessions

A searchable online programme, developed by the DIA Europe 2027 Programme Committee is available here.

The 2027 programme is built around the theme "Collaborating for Healthcare Innovation," spanning tracks such as medicines and medicinal product regulation, clinical trials, real-world evidence, digital health, regulatory innovation, environmental and systems sustainability, and patient access to innovative medicines. As in prior years, expect the programme to be organized into multiple parallel tracks and priority areas.

Yes. Pre-conference short courses are offered on Monday, 15 March 2027 for attendees wanting a deeper dive into HTA and ICH GCP Annex II. More information can be found here.

The Call for Posters is open until 5 November 2026 and the Call for Abstracts for DIA Europe 2028 will open on 18 March 2027 for the conference taking place in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

On-Site

Badge pickup will take place at Congress Center Basel over several days, typically starting the Tuesday morning before the main conference and continuing each day of the event. Exact hours will be confirmed in November.

DIA works closely with the venue and suppliers to implement health and safety protocols appropriate to the circumstances at the time of the event. Updates will be posted on the conference website as the date approaches.

Yes. Please send any special dietary needs or allergies to basel@diaglobal.org in advance so DIA staff and caterers can handle your request confidentially.

DIA is committed to creating sustainable, low-impact events, and DIA Europe remains one of the few in-person EMEA regional meetings that also prioritizes environmental and systems sustainability as a core conference theme in 2027. Details are available here.

Certificates of attendance will be made available via your DIA membership account shortly after the event concludes. If you require any assistance please reach out to basel@diaglobal.org.

Most sessions (with likely exceptions such as Poster Sessions and Innovation Hub presentations) are expected to be recorded and made available on the DIA Europe online event app for a period of 6 months following the conference, as in previous years.

Accreditation (e.g., CPD credits via the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, FPM) is typically secured for DIA Europe and confirmed ahead of the event; check the conference website for final accreditation details.

Travel & Hotel

Basel is well connected by train, bus, plane (EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg), and car. Check the conference website's travel page for the latest information.

DIA partners only with Pure Conferences to secure preferential hotel rates for DIA Europe attendees. Guests staying in participating Basel hotels usually receive a complimentary Basel Card for free public transportation during their stay. Bookings can now be made via this link. Please always book through official DIA channels and be cautious of unaffiliated or fraudulent booking websites contacting attendees directly.

The closest parking option is typically Parkhaus Messe Basel, Riehenstrasse 101, 4058 Basel, adjacent to Congress Center Basel.

Event App

The "My DIA" event app will be made available to all registered participants ahead of the conference, downloadable via the App Store or Google Play. The exact release date is 1 month prior to the conference.

The app is expected to provide the full programme, session details, attendee matchmaking, in-app meeting set ups, to support networking before, during, and after the event.

Networking

Networking opportunities are built throughout the conference, including scheduled breaks and an evening networking reception during the event. Check the final programme for up to date networking opportunities.

Yes - the My DIA app typically opens for matchmaking, messaging, and scheduling meetings 4 weeks before the conference and stays active for a period afterward, allowing you to connect with other attendees, speakers, and exhibitors both remotely and on-site.
