"

I got involved with DIA about 20 years ago, and I started being a member to join the Global Annual Meeting and also the meeting in Europe. I really enjoyed that.
Since then, I became the co-chair of the DIA Regulatory Policy Community, and I love the fact to bridge the community at DIA with the Global Meeting and make sure we have the regulators, the policy makers, the patients, industry members, academia, and have meaningful conversations to push some of these topics forward and get more medicines to patients faster.

I'm the Executive Director at U.S. Regulatory Scientific Policy at EMD Sirono.

I think I really look forward to some of the conversation in terms of how we use AI in drug development, but really starting to discuss how do we go beyond the hype, because it's been out there for a while, everybody's excited about it, but I think what we still have to see is the actual ability to scale that up and to see the actual return investments on the use of AI for drug development. And again, I think the Global Annual Meeting is a really good place to share some use case, to really ask the question, okay, is that really adding value? What are the risks associated to the use of AI? And also, how do we all work as an ecosystem to regulate it in a way that it doesn't prevent innovation? And I think, again, I think for me the most important conversation is like going beyond the hype of AI.
That would be the main point I would like to discuss in the Global Annual Meeting. So I'm very much looking forward to that.

And I'm really excited to see conversations take shape at DIA this year about the intersection between medical devices, diagnostics, and drugs, and how regulators and industry and other stakeholders will be coming together to talk about the current challenges we face in developing personalized medicines and the diagnostics that are needed to accompany them and how we address those challenges together.
Really excited to work with all of the parties together at DIA on those issues.
