Health and Safety

  • Health and Well-being

The COVID-19 pandemic is constantly changing, but DIA’s commitment to the health and safety of our constituents remains consistent. Because of DIA’s unwavering commitment to protecting and preserving public health we have made the decision that all participants at in-person DIA Meetings, Workshops, Forums and Conferences, whether a presenter, attendee, exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor, are required to be fully vaccinated.

Participants must provide proof of vaccination after registering for an in-person event. Accommodation may be offered on a case-by-case basis for any in-person participant who is unable to be vaccinated due to disability or medical condition, or in connection with a sincerely held religious belief or practice, unless otherwise provided under applicable state or local law. If mandated by national, state, or local guidelines in effect during the dates of any meeting, DIA will require masks to be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status. See the Mask Requirement section below where information will be updated.

This decision was reached by examining public health and safety guidance, meeting spaces, our own event requirements, and the fact that conditions continue to change. It is our top priority to create the safest possible environment, and we will do this by proceeding with the current best practices and information available to us.

Our in-person meetings will also have a virtual component. You have the option of registering for one of the following: the in-person event or for access to the DIA On Demand Virtual Library. We recognize and respect that all who choose to participate will make the best decision for themselves and will be responsible for their own choices.

If you are unable to meet the vaccination requirement, we encourage you to register for the On Demand Virtual Library.

We are continuing to review and evaluate the outlook for in-person events and will provide updates as they become available. As we get closer to our events, we will post more information about what you can expect onsite.

For those registered for the in-person meeting, you will receive a link to upload and verify your vaccine status in early 2022.

  • Mask Requirement

We will notify attendees of the Mask Requirement in effect for each in-person event in the “Know Before You Go” email that is sent approximately one week prior to a meeting. Additionally, we will post an update on this website to communicate any mask requirements.

As of October 20, 2021 – Chicago does have a mask mandate requiring people to wear masks indoors at gatherings.
