Preparing LATAM for the Next Generation of Therapies: Regulatory Challenges and Opportunities for Innovation hosted by Maria Antonieta Roman, Novartis

The rapid emergence of advanced therapies, including cell and gene therapies, RNA based medicines, radioligand therapies, and other innovative treatment modalities, is transforming healthcare and challenging traditional regulatory frameworks. This interactive roundtable will bring together regulators, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss the current regulatory landscape in Latin America, key gaps and barriers to innovation, and opportunities for greater collaboration, convergence, and regulatory preparedness. Participants will exchange perspectives on how the region can strengthen its readiness to evaluate, authorize, and monitor new therapies while ensuring timely patient access and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss in more detail and exchange perspectives on the evolving regulatory landscape and discuss how structured data, future of eCTD, cloud-based collaboration, and ePI may support greater regulatory connectivity across the region. Building on the morning’s session, the lunch conversation will focus on practical opportunities, challenges, and considerations for advancing these approaches, while recognizing the different priorities, capabilities, and stages of digital maturity across health authorities and industry in Latin America.
