Dr. Murray is a mechanical engineer with expertise in electrical and mechanical properties of materials, metallurgy, and failure analysis of electrical and mechanical systems. He has dedicated his work to assessing potential risk and analyzing failure of products ranging from underground lateral piping to heart monitors and catheters used in surgery. Using examples from fields such as aeronautics and nuclear power, he’ll share insights on understanding product risk in the context of benefits, and how this understanding and human factors of behavior inform product and risk management regulation.
