Rising cost and increased attrition rates is one of the challenges in drug development. There is a growing need of scientifically-rationalized drug development process from clinical trial design to postmarketing safety activities. Ranges of application of medical big data usage and infrastructure-building have been expanding. Meanwhile, many challenges for its efficient usage remain. In this session, examples of available medical big data and their utilization will be shared and potential utilization, challenges, and future perspective will be discussed with users and experts for database construction and data science. If you have any question about big data such as, “I need this analysis,” “Is it possible to use Big Data?” and “current issues,” please send an e-mail to Hideo.Susa@diaglobal.org by October 31, 2015.
