Health and Safety

The health and safety of our attendees, presenters, exhibitors, staff, guests, vendors, and local residents is of utmost importance to DIA. Please read on for information regarding

  • Vaccine Requirements

The COVID-19 pandemic is constantly changing, but DIA’s commitment to the health and safety of our constituents remains consistent. Because of DIA’s unwavering commitment to protecting and preserving public health we have made the decision that all participants at in-person DIA Meetings, Workshops, Forums and Conferences, whether a presenter, attendee, exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor, are required to be fully vaccinated. If you are unable to be vaccinated due to medical condition, disability or a sincerely held religious belief, we offer an option for online access to DIA’s events.

Participants must provide proof of vaccination after registering for an in-person event.” The CDC’s definition of “fully vaccinated” is a person who has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and is two weeks past their final dose of the primary series. In the US, the primary series is defined as two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, two doses of Moderna, one dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen. Our vaccine verification software can accept and review international vaccine dosages. DIA strongly encourages all attendees to stay up to date on vaccinations, which means receiving the booster dose(s) when eligible, as extra protection.

All in-person attendees must provide proof of vaccine.

CrowdPass Information: Starting in March, you will receive an email from support@crowdpass.co titled “Please Complete Your Health Screening Form”. This is the link you must click on to provide your proof of vaccination. This link is personalized to you, so do not share it with anyone else.

If you have not received the email from Crowdpass from March through June, please contact NAevents@DIAglobal.org for the Crowdpass resend.

Please ensure you submit your proof of vaccination at least one week prior to the meeting to move through registration quickly. If you have not cleared the vaccine screening, you will not be admitted to the meeting until your status is verified.

  • Mask Requirement

DIA will require and enforce that all individuals must wear a mask indoors unless you are actively eating, drinking, or presenting in a session.

Masks will be required regardless of the Chicago mask mandate being lifted in order to protect our attendees.

  • Participant Duty of Care

As agreed during registration, if you are feeling sick or experiencing COVID-like symptoms prior to traveling to or while on-site at the meeting, you will stay home. If need you need assistance transferring your registration, please contact NAevents@DIAglobal.org This information can be found in the Event Safety Code of Conduct section of the Terms & Conditions found on the “Register” tab.

Testing: For your own peace of mind, we strongly recommend taking a COVID-19 test before you depart for the meeting and upon returning home. DIA will have a list of locations for testing, if needed. The responsibility for scheduling and paying for the test is on the individual.

McCormick Place: Chicago has created a Healthy Meetings Chicago website for guests visiting the Windy City. We encourage you to use Healthy Meetings Chicago as a resource so you feel best equipped for your trip to Chicago before it begins. The website will be updated regularly.

Hotel Cleaning Policies: Each hotel will have specific health and safety protocols available on their websites.  If they do not have that information, please contact the hotel directly.
