A UL course
This course reviews the Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, released by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and effective as of January 2009. It is designed for pharmaceutical and biotechnolgy companies to reaffirm their commitment to following the highest ethical standards and all legal requirements when promoting products to the medical community.
Guidance is given on multiple issues affecting interactions with health care professionals, including meals; prohibition on entertainment and recreation; company support for continuing medical education; third-party education; use of consultants and speakers, scholarships, and educational programs; distribution of educational items; prescriber data; and training.
