Operational considerations for a MSL team are becoming more complex with our current regulatory environment and require significant planning and oversight to ensure the team is properly resourced, sized, aligned (internally and externally) and targeted. The session will provide an overview of the operational issues you need to consider when starting or restructuring a team. The session will include an overarching presentation to cover current operational trends in MSL teams which will be followed by interactive small group discussions. Four topic area discussions will be facilitated by experts at separate tables. Topics for small group discussions include: 1) MSL Team Resource Modeling, 2) Compliance Impact on MSL Operations, 3) Structure, Staffing & Team Sizing, and 4) Evolving MSL customer segments – How do you find them and how to align a team to them? Participants will have the opportunity to rotate between two discussion tables in 30 minute blocks.

Learning Objective : At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to: - Identify the points to evaluate when sizing and aligning a new or current field based MSL team - Describe MSL team resource needs & new models for resourcing based on therapeutic area need and industry standards - Discuss the impact of the evolving compliance environment on MSL team operational needs
