Dr. Mika Maeda is a Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Pharmacoepidemiology at Kitasato University’s School of Pharmacy and serves as Deputy Head of the Section for Human Research Protections at Kitasato University Hospital. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in planning and managing early-phase and exploratory clinical trials. Dr. Maeda holds a PhD in Medicine from Kitasato University and is dedicated to advancing clinical research and enhancing patient engagement.

Mr. Kazuyuki Suzuki is Senior Lead Strategy & Excecution Patient Advocacy at Novartis Pharma K.K. He is responsible for developing patient engagement strategy from clinical development to commercial. Before the current positon, Mr. Suzuki had over 20 years' experience in pharmaceutical industries in clinical development strategy and operations.

Masanori Okuse is the representative director of The Japanese Association for Psoriatic Disease, and also is a part of the board directors of IFPA, International Federation of Psoriasis Associations, as a patient with psoriatic disease. He formerly worked for pharmaceutical companies and CRO for more than 30 years in total. In the companies, he has a wealth of experience in marketing, medical affairs and clinical trials. He has served as a patient advisor for the Patient Advocacy Committee, PhRMA since 2023.

Atsushi  Kitamura, MS

Since 2020, Mr. Atsushi Kitamura has served as the community lead for the DIA Patient Engagement Community. Mr. Kitamura has also coordinated with other industry groups leading Patient Engagement or DCT activities to invigorate the DIA Japan annual meetings, DIA Patient Engagement workshops, and Patient Engagement information exchange meetings. Mr. Kitamura began his career in clinical development at Nippon Kayaku, Oncology division. He then moved to a global CRO and later to Wyeth Research. Currently, he works at Pfizer R&D Japan as the GCP Quality Head. In this role, Mr. Kitamura promotes GCP renovation, encourages input from multiple stakeholders including patients, and contributes to the clinical trial ecosystem.

Ms. Yuki Sasaki is a Clinical Trial Coordinator at Hokkaido University Hospital. Since 2012, Yuki has served as the Director of the Clinical Trial Site Management Office, where she has been involved in CRC education and the clinical trial process. In 2016, she also took on the role of Director of the Office of Human Subjects Protection. Additionally, she has been engaged in the educational activities of ARO's CRC as a representative of the ARO Council CRC Professional Liaison Committee since 2019. In 2018, she earned her Master of Business Administration degree with a major in Entrepreneurship from Otaru University of Commerce. She promotes quality management within the organization while ensuring patient safety and staff work efficiency.

Yuta Kasai is a person in charge of Patient Engagement (PE) activity in Japan region in Clinical Operations at Astellas Pharma Inc (API). In this role, Yuta has been responsible for PE activity in clinical operations for about 5 years in Japan and supporting clinical trial team in terms of PE aspect such as collecting Japanese patient insight, dislosing clinical trial information to patient and relevant process mangaement. Yuta has also engaged in alignment with global PE acitivity as one of the member of a team leading PE acitivity in the global Clinical Operations at API and joined some industry activity such as JPMA, TransCelerate, and DIA to enhance Patient and Public Involvement in Japan with relenavt stakeholders.

I am the parent of a child with congenital thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). I majored in English and American Studies at a junior college and graduated in 1990. After graduation, I transitioned through various roles, working in banks, hospitals, and medical schools. Currently, I am employed as an accounting clerk at a medical corporation.Since 2019,I am actively involved in patient and public involvement, delivering lectures and contributing to publications. I also focus on promoting e-Sports by exploring the relationship between online gaming and parent-child bonds.
