Lawmakers propose bills to increase generic competition
Members of the Senate and House from both parties have proposed eight antitrust bills designed to stop tactics they say are aimed at thwarting competition from generic drug makers. The proposals would make it easier to bring biosimilars to market, make it more difficult to secure a new patent after a minor medication change, stop pay-for-delay patent settlements and ban sham citizen petitions.
