J&J takes charge of Emergent's plant for COVID-19 vaccine

The federal government has placed Johnson & Johnson in charge of the Emergent BioSolutions plant in Baltimore after a mix up of ingredients for its COVID-19 vaccine and that of AstraZeneca's a few weeks ago resulted in the loss of 15 million J&J vaccine doses, according to an unnamed HHS official. AstraZeneca will be moving its vaccine production to another location, and J&J reiterated its commitment to deliver 100 million COVID-19 vaccine doses by the end of May. Reuters (4/5)
