CDC committee recommends warning on J&J vaccine
New recommendations from the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for using the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine included a warning on the risk of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome among women ages 18 to 49. The recommendations, published in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, were based on a risk-benefit analysis that found the benefits of the vaccine outweighed the risks, and the FDA has added a warning to the vaccine's emergency use authorization.
